Let it be your virtual REALTY…
“New Normal” is the buzz word these days and I dislike it.
I miss the old normal… but hey, it is what it is.
The pandemic brought the world to a standstill, forcing people, businesses, and organizations to return to basics… and to reinvent how we run our day to day lives.
“Virtual” has many definitions depending on its contextual usage, but for those of us in real estate, this one from Merriam-Webster fits best:
: of, relating to, or existing within a virtual reality
// a virtual tour
I know, it’s nothing new.
Virtual tours have been around in real estate for years, continually developing as technology advances –3D tours, virtual walk-throughs, and now Mattaport, a three-dimensional camera system that gives viewers a feel for the space from a variety of viewpoints.
All great tools but something is missing.
YOU! The interested buyer… you’re not there.
Travel restrictions have limited the tried and true method of selling real estate – physically visiting a property to explore all it has to offer, plus the opportunity to ask your agent questions while on site.
Today on Roatan, we’re fortunate to have great wireless internet speeds and even 4G over the cell phone networks.
So what does that mean to you, an interested buyer?
Well… it means virtual reality can be adapted to virtual REALTY.
Sounds like a cliché, but remove i from reality… and Ta-Da… you have realty!
Yes, you can be here LIVE with your realtor to view a home… and now from the comfort of your favorite chair… or wherever you choose to be, as long as you have an internet connection.
Social distancing to the max!
Smartphone free apps like WhatsApp, Facebook messenger or Signal – to name a few – allow you and your realtor to make appointments and view properties in real time.
As the client, you pretty much drive the tour just as if you were here.
Sure, it’s not quite the same. But… I can say with confidence after doing quite a few of these virtual realty tours… it’s pretty darn close.
Buying sight-unseen is a huge leap… but if you’re serious, live virtual tours can answer your questions and resolve your concerns.
Here’s how it works and what you need to make it happen:
- A smartphone – any Android or iPhone will work…
- Download a free app – WhatsApp, FaceBook Messenger or Signal are widely used…
- Be sure you have a decent internet connection…
- Locate a property or properties that interest you – we’re happy to help you narrow it down based on your wish list…
- And then… simply contact us to make an appointment.
Easy Peasy!
We always remind clients that there’s no commitment physically or financially to request a virtual tour.
Heck! Football season is over now so what else is there to do?
Dream… yup, just keep on dreaming… and maybe it’s time to start acting on that dream!
Let virtual reality be your virtual REALTY…
And see a real property…
Visit that property with a real realtor!
Can you say that ten times fast?
John & Barbara Morris
P.S. Happy Valentine’s Day! What are you doing to celebrate? I’m taking Barbara to West Bay Beach for a nice, leisurely soak in the ocean. We’ll have lunch at our favorite spot and jump back in the ocean for a swim afterwards. The weather is glorious! Yesterday we had a high of 86 and a low of 75 this morning… sunsets and sunrises all week have been breathtaking.
